IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!!!!
Several tasks should be done now for the end of this year and for next year. If you have unused dental insurance benefits you may have some options. If you have an FSA health spending account, pay your outstanding accounts for the year you occurred them in, or you may not be able to in the following year, most all FSA accounts the monies are lost to that year and do not “roll over”. Call your Dentist and inquire what needs you may have for the coming year so you can plan to put monies into FSA and HSA accounts for the following year.
Unused Insurance benefits, you may have two options:
- Use your benefits before you lose that money to the insurance company. Provided that there is work to be done that is unscheduled.
- Some insurance companies allow a partial “roll over” of unused Insurance benefits.
It is always in your best interest to call and inquire with your dental insurance if you can roll over benefits to the following year, especially if you have some planned dental work for that year. The insurance numbers are on the back of most dental cards or ask your HR person.
Most health savings or spending accounts, (FSA’s, HSA’s ) require pre funding at the beginning of the year so plan your future needs by calling your Dentist. Most dental needs are expensive, such as Implants, Crowns, Dentures, Bridges, teeth whitening and copays all can be used on health spending accounts.
